Seneca Spotlight: 5th Grade Trip
On Monday and Tuesday of this week, the Fifth Graders experienced an educational overnight field trip to the Anita Leight Estuary Center in Abingdon, MD.
The activities that the students participated in were connected to their Unit of Inquiry: Water. Some of the educational adventures included testing the turbidity of the water, identifying fresh water fish from the local environment, canoeing in the fresh water marsh, learning how to follow a trail blaze, and becoming familiar with the birds and reptiles that inhabit the surrounding area.
The fifth-grade class now has a greater appreciation for the importance of the unique environment we call home, the Chesapeake Bay Watershed.
