Preschool Coffee & Conversation

Many thanks to the parents (and grandparent and very adorable younger siblings!) for joining us at the Preschool Coffee and Conversation! We received wonderful feedback and are planning to continue the conversation by offering another session in January.

Spotlight: 2nd Grade- Mining & Recycling

Ms. Hall’s 2nd Grade Mining and Visit the Recycling Center
Ms. Halls’ 2nd grade class is investigating the central idea, “People can establish practices in order to sustain the Earth’s finite resources” in their unit on natural resources.  The students completed a “mining” experiment to see which tools, bulldozer (their hands) or a hammer and wedge (toothpicks), would be best for the Earth’s surface (the cookie) when mining for coal (chocolate chips!).
Also to support this unit, the class went on a trip to the Recycling Center, and saw first-hand how we can reuse our precious resources!
