Words from Dr. Carroll…
Thanks to everyone who came out this past blustery Sunday for the Hoedown! We had a record number of attendees, including lots of alumni. See below for pictures.
Thanks to everyone who donated to the silent auction- the bidding was competitive and lively! We’ll give updates on our net proceeds and how we will use them soon.
Special thanks to our entertainment:
Steve Orders of Exit 0, Kellie Donohue and Jonathan Babu of Here Comes Trouble and Slim Harrison and the Sunnyland Band! Also thanks to Andy’s Parties for the donation of 2 Moon Bounces!
Special thanks to Chef Gregory Webb (Executive Chef at Paladar) for cooking such delicious food, as well as Red, Hot & Blue, Milano’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Macaroni Grill for their food donations. Let’s let these businesses know how much we appreciate them!
I am delighted to be part of this engaged, energetic and fun community!
Seneca Highlight: Ms. Luk’s 4th Grade Maryland Historical Society
Last week, the fourth grade class went to the Maryland Historical Society located in Baltimore. There, we saw a model of the Ark and the Dove, learned about primary resources, Colonial Maryland history, and the economy during the 1600’s. We also had a heated debate about which items to bring to the New World (we pretended we were settlers traveling from England). The museum had many original paintings that showed scenes from the 17th century. We would like to go back to visit this museum with our families and friends. Our class recommends this museum to people that are interested in history.
