We are proud to be the first private authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program World School in Montgomery County, Maryland. Seneca Academy is located in Darnestown, Maryland on a six-acre National Wildlife Federation Certified Schoolyard Habitat. We are conducting weekday tours of our school, so that parents can see our classrooms in action. Come join us to learn about the curricula for our preschool programs, Kindergarten, and 1st through 6th grades.
Seneca Academy is a non-profit, independent day school, founded in 1983, serving children preschool through sixth grade. Seneca Academy is accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS) and has been authorized by the International Baccalaureate Organization as a World School offering the Primary Years Program. IB schools share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that Seneca Academy believes is important for our students.
After you have explored our website, we invite you to attend an open house, schedule a weekday tour and/or call us at 301-869-3728. You will be able to meet with teachers and learn how they implement our engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum. You will see our students in action, engaged in inquiry-based, hands-on learning. Let us show you how we stand out from other private schools in Maryland…
