Seneca Academy is a non-profit, independent day school, founded in 1983, serving children preschool through sixth grade. Seneca Academy is accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS).
Seneca Academy is an International Baccalaureate Candidate School, and is in the process of becoming a fully authorized International Baccalaureate/Primary Years Program School. Through the IB/PYP, we will help students develop the intellectual, personal, emotional and social skills to live, learn and work in a rapidly globalizing world.
The Seneca Academy faculty delivers a challenging and caring environment that enables each child to work toward his or her potential. Each classroom teacher holds at least a bachelor’s degree and maintains current credentials as required by the Maryland State Board of Education.
The Seneca Academy curricula, campus, and classrooms provide students with hands-on, experiential learning opportunities to become fully engaged in the learning process. We use project-based, student inquiry methods to ensure our students “turn experience into knowledge.”
